ST.JOSEPH'S CONVENT

ANGLO INDIAN GIRLS' HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL - COONOOR

The Past Students’ Association (PSA) was initiated by Sr. Miriam (Felice Cunningham) in the year 1975 she herself was the founding president with a body of elected members. Since then several members were enrolled. The main object of the association is to help the poor. They have taken up various projects such as supply of books, clothes, fees to the poor and needy children and donation to the local orphanages. From 1988 all students who pass out of the school have mandatorily been enrolled in the PSA. During the centenary year (2000) the projects were expanded for the benefit of more deserving poor and backward children, organizations and institutions. They have also instituted several prizes and awards to the students of St. Joseph’s Convent including educational loans for higher studies. At Christmas time a grand family celebration was held which was attended by all the members and their spouses and student members. A newsletter titled ‘The Link’ was circulated among members.
